We've adopted Thomas Graff, his disabled wife, and their dog. The couple, in their 50s, were displaced from New Orleans by the hurricane and are now staying in Conway. They would like to stay in this area, and he's working on finding work and getting housing assistance. They need the usual household items that one needs when starting anew. Their needs extend far beyond what we list here, but this will help to set them back on their feet.

10/05/05 Update: The Graffs need your blessings, as the last week or so has been rough for them. Their car broke down, so they had to spend the money saved for the mobile home on a replacement car, and Mrs. Graff had to be admitted to the hospital due to health problems. She is expected to be released tomorrow. They are now looking for a place to rent in the Conway area. They've been living in a hotel for the last month, which I'm sure isn't the best environment for long-term occupancy. The plumbing job is currently on hold, as Thomas is busy with paperwork, trying to find a home, and getting assistance. 9/20/05 Update: Thomas has found a job in Conway as a plumber, and he is hoping to use the FEMA money to get a mobile home lot in the Conway or Mayflower area. If you know somewhere that they could get an inexpensive mobile home from, even if it's a fixer-upper, please let us know.
